That's pretty cool. I like the shot of night time falling on Eastern Europe. Are these picture real?

I saw the cutest story on TV this morning. The Western Guide Dog is looking for volunteers to foster care for a new litter of retriever puppies for about a year. After the year the dogs will be trained to become seeing eye dogs. Awwww.....

Puppy Foster Home
This is a 24-hour, 7 day a week volunteer position. Volunteers receive a puppy at approximately 7-8 weeks old and care for him/her until approximately 14 months old. The role of the Puppy Raiser is to socialize the puppy to as wide a variety of environments and situations as possible such as offices, restaurants, malls and elevators as well as on public transportation. The Puppy Raiser is required to attend weekly socialization/obedience training classes given by WGADS. The ultimate goal is to help the puppy develop sufficient social skills and behaviours to enable the puppy to be accepted in all environments. The Puppy Raising Supervisor oversees this program, visits families on a regular basis and assesses the progress of the puppy.

Yeah, I' m being sarcastic. They opened the Women's World Cup in Edmonton yesterday with a 66-7 loss to New Zealand. Yikes. To give the Canucks some credit -- the Kiwis haven't lost a game since 2001.

I'm sure his parents are so proud ;) Acutally, I have an image in my head that his mom is the like the German mom from Charlie and the Choclate Factory (the version with Gene Wilder).

Does anyone know when the next one will come out?

According to http://movies.yahoo.com it's supposed to open on May 25th, 2007. And the name will apparently be 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.'

This movie is opening only a year after the second film because they filmed both at the same time. Makes sense to me....probably costs a whole lot less (despite Dead Man's Chest making a kazillion dollars so far).

Is it just me, or do movies seem to be a lot of deja vu? I went the see a movie called "The Wild" with my kid, and I swear to god, it was exactly the same as "Madagascar". It seems that a lot of movies seem to be a rehash of old ideas. Superman, Batman, hell, even Spiderman are old concepts. Even Pirates is based on a theme park ride (forgetting the fact that its also a sequel). Soon the movie execs will run out of ideas, and start combining movies. Look for next years summer blockbuster: Superman Wears Prada

I'd assume that the movie execs are just going after the formulas that make big money. But I agree that there is A LOT of rehashing. Same thing with the music industry. Every rap song (in particular) has a hook or a sample taken from another song. And a lot of those songs were also rehashed versions.

On a side note....I didn't know Pirates of the Caribbean was based on the ride! I thought the ride came after the movie. That's hilarious. Especially to have a bunch of Oscar nominations to come of the movie.......

Italy has advanced to the finals every 12 years since 1917! Isn't that weird? What strange odds that it happened again -- 12 years since that last time they qualified for the finals.
