Ya, Manning is just what Alberta needs to get past it's redneck image. If he was anymore of a redneck, he'd wear overalls with no shirt on underneath to parliament. He'd move his trailer home into the parking lot beside the Legislature so that he could be close to his wife/cousin Charlene.
Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind

Could you imagine the sound of their children's voices if Preston Manning and Anne McLellan got married?

Scary.......
I really don't know how Preston Manning will be. I honestly can't remember how he was as the leader of the Reform party. Even though Manning hasn't even officially entered the race --- according to recent polls (in the newspapers) he is by far the front runner in the race. Must be nice to know you are winning a race before you have even entered it.

I think it is the fact that he is honest, brilliant, and has the ability to look far enough into the future to see what is best for the population. It was never about his own career. Unfortunately people didn't like his voice. It was much better voting for someone who has a deep voice but is an idiot (cough cough Mulroney). I think Albertans are looking for real leadership skills, not just an image.

We aren't voting for him.....the Conservative Party is. Albertans really don't have a say in what happens. And Manning hasn't even said he is going to run. I think people and the media are spending too much time talking about what a good leader Manning would be.....when he hasn't even said yes to running! What about the other candidates who have actually thrown their hat into the ring?

It's official. Preston Manning is NOT going to be running for the Alberta Tories.
