EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers have re-signed winger Joffrey Lupul. It's believed the contract is worth US$6.9 million over three years.
The restricted free agent, who turns 23 next week, was acquired in the Chris Pronger deal with Anaheim earlier this summer. Lupul, who made $900,600 last year, had 28 goals and 25 assists in 81 games last season with the Ducks, his second in the NHL. The Edmonton native also added nine goals and two assists in 16 playoff games.
Lupul, Anaheim's first choice, seventh overall in the 2002 NHL entry draft, had 13 goals and 21 assists in his rookie season following a successful three-year stint in the Western Hockey League where he scored 127 goals. (CP)

I heard Pronger's wife demanded the trade 'cause he was having an affair with some local female newcaster. I tell you...those damn female newcasters are all a little questionable if you ask me!

Nope that was not the case....and the TV anchor in question has threatened legal action against those who talk about it. It was someone behind the scenes.
